Defining your value proposition - Interactive Session at EMERGEOUT Conclave

We would be posting a brief synopsis of the sessions in advance which would be discussed at the EMERGEOUT Conclave. Would request for the community to post what they would like to hear from the panel members and if they would like to put some questions in advance to the panel.

Here goes the first blog post(thread) by Ankur Lal on Defining your value proposition - Interactive Session at EMERGEOUT Conclave. A blog post has also been made live on the EMERGE blog.

At the EMERGEOUT concalve on 29th September in Delhi, I will be leading an interactive session on "Defining your value proposition", with Sanjeev Aggarwal of Helion VC and Sudha Kumar of Prayag as speakers.

I am writing to you to seek your inputs on "Value Proposition", your experiences in defining, validating and institutionalizing it in your companies. I would like to use the inputs in deliberations and discussions on the 29th. We plan to have a very interactive 90 minutes session at 2pm. I would like to invite you to come to the session.

In case you are curious to find out what is in store for 29th, read on...

Is your company caught up in the web of day-to-day activities, not allowing you to focus on creating and sustaining an effective value proposition?
An effective value proposition maybe one of those important yet not-urgent activities which always slip into "tomorrow". And tomorrow never comes.
Building an effective value proposition is time consuming, takes a lot of thought, debate, deliberations and validation by stakeholders involved. A value proposition built by the founder in vacuum, often fails even without being tested in time.

In this workshop we would like to deliberate, debate, question and learn what it takes to build an effective value proposition

  • What is your value proposition (start with 3 -5 actual examples from
    the room)
  • How to build an effective value proposition - through collaboration,
    interaction, thinking ?
  • How does it become the part of the DNA for the core team, and the
    rest of the employees,
  • Implementing Value proposition in the DNA through Performance
    Management System and Organization Values
  • How to effectively communicate it to employees, investors and
Customers and what it means for each of them
  • Challenges in implementing it effectively
  • How to validate and iterate and bring about change in the valueproposition, to keep it sharp and differentiated.
  • How to create a process of customer value research, to understand how own market offering delivers superior value to customers, compared with next best alternative.

I look forward for your inputs.
