If you are not specifically looking for Made in India products/services, then there are many Made in World products available. :-)

Google sites (http://sites.google.com) is pretty useful in terms of collaboration and project management. The thing is you have to leverage your team a bit to make use of its features, but then its pretty much cool. For instance, for an Agile based software development, we created a scrum product backlog using google sites, see sample here if you are interested.

There are many free one's, and the one I prefer is Trac.

The best of all (but bit expensive) is Confluence. Its meets most of the people requirements.

Hari, You might also want to explore www.zoho.com. It is a Made in India and they probably have some good applications for Project Management & Collaboration.

http://www.deskaway.com/ is another one [of Indian origin]- but less powerful compared to these. For non-Indian, there are a quite a few, each one having its own advantages.

with Microsoft Business solutions practice as your lead focus, why not try MBS-AX-Project Accounting function. I understand that is the best in the market- equally attractive and well covered for Software projects as well as any other capital projects( road construction, plant construction -erection and commissioning etc).

That seem to be the best and with your MS partnership, it should be easy. Once you do that as MS partner, you can leverage showcase to sell to large no of potential EPC projects in Bengal…

I have seen a demo of SilverStripe which is meant for Agile Project Management. It is good and I would recommend that.

Many thanks to all of you for your feedback and advice. I have signed up with deskaway.com which is a Mumbai based start up and have a simple , easy to use , no frills hosted service.  I wanted something quick and it just took me a few minutes to evaluate  zoho and deskaway and I found deskaway was fitting my immediate requirements.
